Cedric Shannon owns and runs Weathertop Farm with his wife Sarah in Floyd County, Virginia. In 2003 they bought old farm land slated for development. Starting with five young kids, 100 broilers, a small flock of layers, and a few rabbits Weathertop Farm slowly grew into the business it is today. We now raise sheep, cattle, hogs, chickens, and turkeys and everything is rotationally grazed with electric netting. Managing around 200 acres we now employ 4-5 people a year and provide meat for hundreds of families. On top of farming, Cedric still plays some soccer, occasionally adds an episode to his podcast Can Your Beans Do That? and is finishing up a manuscript for a book.
